The project was born in Naples (IT) in 2000 with the name “Sulphur” from an idea of Marcello D’Anna (guitars) and Roberto Toderico (vocals) united by Bruno Masulli (AnnihilationMancer, Marshall). The band started creating original songs that combine fast black metal, death metal and a furious thrash metal riffing. From 2000 to 2001 there where lots of line-up changes till drummer Daniele Ciao (Endorphine) and bass player Schroeder (Bloodyssey,The Sperms) joined the band and bring it to an important period of powerful live shows. Other line-up changes (and problems related) slow down the release of the first demo for a long time. Few days before entering the studio Rob and Shroeder, bored of the ureliability of Daniele Ciao, too busy with his other projects, expelled him although the disappointment of Marcello, aware of the lack of usable replacement. So the recording was delayed and the band continued his activity without a drummer using a drum-machine. At the end of 2002 they began the recordings for their demo, but during the bass sessions Rob and Schroeder, who had recorded only two of the expected five tracks, left the band with the intent to create a death'n'roll project. Altough out of the band, Rob decided to record the vocal parts, so Marcello re-arranged and re-played the bass parts recorded by Schroeder and complete the other three tracks. While recording the vocal tracks a new energy started to flow through the veins of the band so Marcello and Rob decided to give rebirth to the band whose name changed in “Burial In Sulphur” to show a more mature musical identity. The name is inspired to the ruins and the destruction left in the past by the volcano Vesuvio. After recording, the return of the drummer Daniele Ciao and the join of the bass player Ferruccio Milanesi (Metharia and ex Etoile Noire) allowed the band returning to live activity. At the end of 2004 the bass player Raffaele Di Maio (Krom) joined the band bringing it to a still more granitic and destructive sound. In 2006, after a period spent in gigs and arranging the new songs, a serious health problem occurred to Rob. So the band recruited Raffaele Berisio (Krom) and Marcello begins to help him as second vocalist. In 2008 Raffaele was replaced with Francesco Villani (Deathseed). In April 2008 the band entered the studio for recording four new tracks but, after the tracking of drums, guitars and vocals parts, Daniele Ciao and Raffaele Di Maio left the band, even if they declared their will to complete the recording. Anyway Marcello, unsatisfied of the recording performance of the band and of his own too, decided to not complete the work and dissolved the band. He was too bored of years spent in filling out a good line-up and waiting unreliable musicians. After a year, Marcello decided to give rebirth to Burial in Sulphur, but now as a one-man band. At the end of the year he'll record again the tracks recorded in 2008 and some new songs
